Fiery Orange & Ginger Juice

Last week, in a word, blah. Not so good. Not so busy. Not so positive.

But instead of focussing on that, because when is that ever a good idea? I’m looking to this fresh new week of not-so-blah. I know Mondays can be tough for a lot of people. Time to get on and get at it. But I always try to see that as a good thing, a positive thing, something to get me into gear and start the new week off with some purpose and love.

In the spirit of kicking off the week right (especially after the aforementioned blah week) I made a juice that kicks ass and then wandered down to the local cat shelter with my man to look after the little cuties there. HELLO good vibes. It could have been the juice or it could have been the fact that the cutest, fluffiest guy (cat) named Jerry happily snuggled in with me for a solid 20 minutes or so after I cleaned his pen. Who knows for sure? But I’d recommend trying this juice to give you some zing first thing in the morning and then, if possible, some cat cuddles.

Fiery Orange & Ginger Juice

Makes approx. 1 litre of juice

Ingredients

  • 4 large oranges
  • 1/2 a lemon
  • 1 1/2 inches of ginger

Method

  • Peel the skin off the oranges and lemon (you can leave the skin on the ginger).
  • Pop the ingredients into the juicer. I’ve found that putting some fruit in before the ginger works well for me.
  • Pour juice into a glass bottle or jar and put in the fridge to chill. I get quite frothy juice when I make this so you might want to let it settle and give it a good stir before enjoying.

*I enjoyed mine with some poetry but my man suggests sparkling water, if you fancy.
