I swear matcha is magical. The energy and feeling of zen it brings makes it the perfect way to start your morning. I do tend to have my matcha warm in a mug and packed with goodness and adaptogens but this smoothie is a fun, cooling alternative. Especially during the hotter summer months.
Naturally sweetened from the banana and cooling thanks to the mint it gives you a nice kick to get out the door and get going. The addition of tocos adds some creaminess as well as a boost of vitamin E – which is good for your skin and connective tissue – it also tastes really good. Mint is a super-star in my eyes. As well as tasting amazing it can also have some pretty great health benefits;
-aids in digestion
-soothes troubled tummies
-helps with headaches
-can aid in relieving congestion
-natural stimulant (which can help when you’re feeling a bit low and sluggish)
The flavour also pairs really nicely with the delicate green tea taste from the matcha.
Now that I have given you the background on this magical smoothie there is something else that I would like to quickly mention; forward planning for Living Alchemy.
My vision for this site is to encourage and hopefully inspire people to enhance their lives through the power of plants. Mostly this has been through recipes because I truly believe that what you eat can transform your life and that preparing your own food can be a powerful ritual. I would also love to include more posts on thoughtful living, however that may look. If you have anything you would like me to create, research or write about then please let me know! Saying this, I have decided to become an Amazon Associate. This will mean that I can share with you the products I use in my own kitchen and life regularly, and love. You can click a link and purchase if you wish! My primary goal, as I said above, is to share and hopefully inspire you with what I create here, not to advertise specific products – however it may be useful for you to build your own arsenal of plant-powered ingredients/products!
Secondly this will hopefully provide me with a way of making a little money to support the work that goes into Living Alchemy. If you click a link and then purchase from Amazon (it doesn’t need to be the item that is linked, it can be anything!), they send me a small percentage to support my website, at zero cost to you. I deeply appreciate all of your support and love!
